Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a well researched treatment for trauma developed by Frances Shapiro, PhD. This gentle, non invasive method uses bilateral stimulation (through eye movement, tapping, sensors or sound) to help desensitize disturbing memories and reprocess the belief system that has been built around the traumatic event. This clears the way for more positive insights, emotions, thoughts and beliefs.
Research shows that EMDR is safe, rapid and effective.
Joanna uses EMDR in collaboration with her clients to accelerate the healing process.
She has found it to be effective with a wide range of issues including:
-
Traumatic incidents
-
Phobias
-
Performance Anxiety
-
